What is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) is a form of psychotherapy that treats problems and boosts happiness by modifying dysfunctional emotions, behaviors and thoughts. CBT focuses on solutions and encouraging patients to challenge distorted perceptions and change destructive patterns of behavior.
CBT focuses on the development of personal coping strategies that target solving current problems and changing unhelpful patterns in thoughts, beliefs, and attitudes. Originally developed to treat depression CBT is now used for a number of mental health conditions including anxiety.
